Team Laval Eco-Marathon Winner
In brief: The student team from Laval University in Quebec, Canada won the grand prize for the second year in a row at the 2010 Shell Eco-Marathon Americas competition. They did so by achieving 2,487.5 miles per gallon! A high school team from Indiana took first prize in another portion of the competition as well.

The Universite Laval vehicle won the eco-challenge that too place on March 27 in Houston, Texas, winning out against 48 vehicles in the street course. Last year's record-breaking win by Laval was at 2,757.1mpg.
Student teams from around the world, with prototype streamliner vehicles propelled by everything from gasoline to hydrogen fuel cells competing.
In the UrbanConcept category, teams entered more conventional prototypes. The winners in this category were a high school team from Mater Dei High SChool in Evansville, Indiana, achieving 437.2mpg in their prototype.
