BP Oil Spill: Independent Scientific Report Claims 90% of Leaked Oil Still Floating in the Gulf

Not surprising at all to hear conflicting reports in the wake of this disaster:


Speculation about the amount of oil floating in the Gulf of Mexico continues to run rampant.

Ever since the National Incident Command released a report on the status of the oil in the Gulf on August 2, 2010, there have been public claims from the media and government bodies that 75% of the oil is gone.

A new report released by the University of Georgia and the Georgia Sea Grant states these claims are inaccurate.

1. Up 10% from this morning. Reality is they possibly

got 2% of what went into the gulf. The dispersant made collection impossible. Only time will tell what the end results will be from it's use in the Great Gulf Experiment.
