2012: The Year of Toyota's Electric Car Revolution

Once squeamish about plug-in and electric technology, Toyota has changed its tune:


Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) has announced it will offer a plug-in electric version of its Prius hybrid by 2012. The company also stated it could have two all-electric vehicles on the market within the same time frame.

Additionally, Toyota, the world's largest car manufacturer, revealed it will add six new hybrid models to its fleet by 2012. With the additions of the new plug-in and hybrid cars, Toyota will boast 20 vehicles that either use batteries or regenerative braking to generate better fuel economy.

2. The Toyota/Tesla RAV 4 looks very interesting.

I'm suspecting that they'll put a much larger battery pack in it (at a premium of course.) If that happens, I may just get one.
