In climate change debate, Shimkus (R-dumbass) points to God's promise to Noah
http://www.newser.com/story/105010/john-shimkus-energy-committee-hopeful-bases-climate-change-position-on-bible.html

A leading contender to chair the House Energy Committee has plucked his position on climate change straight from the pages of Genesis. People shouldn't worry about the planet being destroyed, Rep. John Shimkus testified last year, because God promised Noah after the flood that he wouldn't destroy the planet again. "As long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease," the Illinois Republican said confidently, quoting Chapter 8, Verse 22 of Genesis.

<more>

Dear moran climate deniers - you can howl all you want, but there is no geological evidence for a Noachian Flood.

But there is compelling and robust geophysical evidence for anthropogenic global warming.

yup!

1. He's speaking in tongues.
By "God" he means the fossil fuel industry, and by "Noah" he means Shimkus.

2. The really funny thing that non-Christians do not see, is that he mis-
interpreted it. He only promised no more floods that would kill ALL living things. Not rising water from melting icebergs that would only effect certain areas. As I listened to him talk I heard nothing that would deter the world from having climate changes that cause disasters, etc. We already have droughts that cause that and God did not step in end them immediately when there was a need.

Now I would appreciate not getting flamed because of my personal belief. I am just trying to show that Shimkus is not even familiar with his own faith. Just another stupid repug.

6. They interpret everything through their own psycotic
breaks.

He is a good reason to outlaw krestianity and make them practice it in someplace private. Like those folks in ancient Rome who practices their madness in the catacombs. In private like the masturbation it is.

The poster (whose beliefs you decided to shit upon) already pointed out that the
moron in question (the politician in the OP) doesn't even understand the religion
that he professes to follow. It's a shame that you didn't recognise that and went
for a pointless broad-brush attack instead.

(FWIW, I'm not a Christian - according to most definitions - but was just sad to
see the point being missed so badly.)

oh... and by done, he has to gather two of every single species on this planet. That should keep the religious zealot busy till the day he dies.

11. exactly
All the caring young folks who cast votes for Obama couldn't bother themselves this time  So the bible-thumping science haters get another clear shot at f**king their future. Yep, the 20-somethings have a lovely 60 years ahead of them.

Wish I could say Well they get what the deserve.. Just glad I'm 40.. Really, I thought I was over-the-edge of losing hope for people, but this stuff still horrifies me more and more.

13. Shimkus is doing that simply so we'll waste energy fulminating about his nonsense
There's not much point in any elaborate response: "That's what I'd expect from Shimkus" is adequate -- because there's no reaching the idiots who believe that sort of crap and Shimkus isn't convincing anybody new

14. He must have missed Bible school on the day
they studied Revelation 21:1, where it says "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." I'm betting none of these clowns have ever even read the Bible.
