GE Announces Purchase of 25,000 Electric Vehicles and New EV Customer Experience Centers

General Electric has announced it will purchase 25,000 electric vehicles (EVs) as part of GE’s commitment to converting half its global fleet of 30,000, to electric vehicles by 2015.

Touted as the “largest-ever” single electric vehicle commitment, the initial purchase will begin in 2011 with 12,000 General Motors Co. Chevy Volts.
