The good that came from hurricane Dennis

The hurricane improved the position of an artificial reef. The Spiegel Grove was (mistakenly) laying on it's side for a couple of years, but after the hurricane swells rolled through Key Largo, a diver went down on the wreck and found it upright! This is a good turn of events for the coral community ecology of the wreck with more surface area facing the surface.

1. I read a GREAT article in a Dive mag. about Spiegel Grove

It took a while into the article until I understood the article was written by the Spiegel Grove and it search for a new home. A very moving article about it's trip up and down the keys looking for the best home.......

2. Nothing bad happens without some little good happening

I think that another good thing that happened during this storm is that areas that were under the gun were more efficiently prepared for the inevitable. Tragedies big or small are heartbreaking events, but something good can come out of them.
