Obama Visits GE Wind Turbine Plant
President Obama, wasting no time after reaching high level agreements with Chinese leaders on clean energy and green tech, headed to “Schenectady, New York where he visited a General Electric (GE) plant building high-tech wind turbines and discussed about the importance of spurring innovation at home and selling our goods and services abroad.” It was here, said the White House, where he also announced the appointment of GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt to the head the new White House Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

GE is certainly no slouch in the area of green technology, in fact utilizing its various strengths recently at the Consumer Electronics Show to showcase its vision of the smart grid enabled home. It seemed fitting, therefore, that Obama used the GE turbine factory backdrop to talk about how he believes “America is still home to the most creative and most innovative businesses in the world” and that “we must harness our spirit of innovation and creativity to compete in the global economy.”

2. I thought I was going to do good and purchase some American products.

I purchased some GoodYear tiers. I got them home and admiring them I saw "Made in China" printed on the side.

WTF! Where does it stop?

Some lazy Jackass made a real good bonus by putting Americans out of work!

5. Put new tires on our f150 this past summer
they had continentals on sale and they say they're made in the USA. Next time I get a chance I'm going to check the tire store where I bought them and see if the new continentals are still made in the usa. Like I said when I bought these they were on sale so they may have been selling out their USA made tires making room for the higher profit margin china made. assholes all of them that let money cloud their vision

3. GE is certainly good at sharing our innovative
and creative technology with the rest of the world. This is from 5 years ago:

The first wind turbine assembled at the Shenyang plant was completed in late March of this year (2006), and the delivery of the first units is expected by July. The wind turbine assembly plant is located adjacent to two other GE joint venture facilities in Shenyang: GE Liming Gas Turbine Component Co., Ltd. and GE Shenyang Turbomachinery Technology Co., Ltd. The three facilities represent a GE investment of more than US$50 million in China’s northeast region. In May of this year, GE signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s National Development and Reform Commission to expand cooperation in the development of advanced environmental technologies, including wind power

4. China is investing nearly a trillion dollars over the next decade
Wind alone is slated to get about one-third of that.

They want that energy market, and they want it in the worst way.
