Gulf surface temps

One thing is for sure, the next tropical storm that makes it into the Gulf is going to have plenty of heat energy to eat.

3. 87 deg F is WARM! That's warmer than the tropical South Pacific.

As a Scuba diver, I've had to be keenly aware of the water temperature. (Hypothermia is not a joke.) 87 degrees is WARM.

4. Any precedent for this in prior months or years for this same area?

...Those temperatures are like being in a swimming pool.

5. I've been looking for historical data, but haven't found a good source.

I wish they just archived the maps by date, but I don't think they do.
