Just had a live web update about next Sunday in DC. Please come and send a strong message to Obama that he must not allow the pipeline.
This is a unique situation, in that he alone has authority to yea or nay. He cannot hide behind the repub congress. We must remind him of his own words during his campaign...

we are going to form a human ring around the whitehouse...like the symbolic "O" or like a house arrest so that he knows that this will be a 2012 issue.
People must understand that the world's foremost climate expert James Hansen has characterized the exploitation of the tar sands in Alberta as "Game Over".
It is the second largest carbon sink in the world, next to Saudi Arabia. It must stay in the ground.

It is said that it will otherwise be sold to China. I contend that China is working harder at becoming carbon independent that the US is. Let them use it for 10 years at great expense, but when they no longer need it, the machine will close down. If we tap it, be sure that it will be lavishly consumed til it's gone....or when we cease to exist, whichever comes.....
