1. tax on jet fuel for international vacations --> zero, not one effin penny
US, tax on jet fuel for domestic vacations, four cents a gallon

tax on fuel for Greyhound, railroad,
at least eighteen cents

I'm getting kinda tired of.....

the poor are easy victims of tax increases......

as the political position of enviros.

international aviation exempt from Kyoto

2. New Orleans
is the place to start. I'm not the first to bring this up, but the rebuilding of the gulf coast should be a national project to build a green area there. All new housing to take advantage of new tech. and meet enviromental standreds ahead of todays. Also we know how to build coal to gas plants that are enviromentally friendly, and cost productive. I was involved in building one in Pgh. 30 years ago, as an electrician. Start a crash program to use and invest in solar panels, wind and other altenative tech. Don't be so afraid of nuclear, we can use it safely to get to better things. We also have to convince the big corporations that there are huge profits to be made in those new fields, and the average repub. that though we are liberals, we are right about this.
