Wisconsin’s labor unions and environmental groups urged support for SB 459 Monday preceding Tuesday’s Assembly vote on the legislation. The legislation increases Wisconsin’s use of renewable energy to 10% by 2015 and secures funding for Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency program. The organizations cited a report by the Union of Concerned Scientists, “Increasing Wisconsin’s Renewable Energy Standard” that identifies the creation of over 2000 jobs based on the proposed standard
