"LIVINGSTON - Domestic sheep have taken their last mouthful of grass in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness area, ending a tradition that goes back generations.

Elaine and Lawrence Allestad, of Big Timber, had the last sheep grazing allotment in the vast wilderness area north of Yellowstone National Park.

This past week, the National Wildlife Federation announced it had worked out a deal with the Allestads to buy out their allotment for $130,000."
