In a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday, the Prime Minister said he was "pleased" the US had signed an agreement with India on nuclear power.
He commended India for not exploding a nuclear device since 1974 and noted the "great interest" that country had expressed in buying Australian uranium.
A high-level delegation of nuclear experts and diplomats will travel to India and then to Washington within weeks to gather more information about the deal between those two countries.
