91.8 Pct of Buan Voters Oppose Wido Nuclear Waste Dump Site - SK

BUAN, South Korea, Feb. 15 (Yonhap) -- The building of the Wido Island nuclear waste dump site is opposed by 91.83 percent of the Buan County population, organizers for the local referendum said Sunday.

The referendum management committee said that despite one polling booth on Wido being taken over by people opposed to the vote, all remaining 36 polling stations in the country were able to tally up Saturday's vote without obstructions.
