Mo. House passes ethanol fuel standard

The Missouri House passed a bill Monday requiring gasoline sold in the state to contain at least 10 percent agriculturally derived ethanol, starting Jan. 1, 2008.

The bill, HB 1270, now goes to the Senate for action. If the Senate passes the bill, Missouri will become the fifth state to have a statewide ethanol standard.

Illinois Renewable Fuels Act (SB 2236), which passed in the state's Senate, would provide $25 million annually over the next two years to fund the Renewable Fuels Development Program and provide incentives for plant expansion and new construction
