(Associated Press)Court says EPA can't withhold documents on mercury emissions planBOSTON A federal magistrate says the U-S Environmental Protection Agency can't withhold
information from Massachusetts about potentially more effective alternatives to reducing
toxic mercury from power plants.
Attorney General Tom Reilly filed a lawsuit last year claiming the agency was refusing
to release information about alternatives to their plan.
The magistrate found that documents which Reilly's office argues would show alternatives
to the E-P-A's proposal were not exempt from the federal Freedom of Information Act.
