I don't think they have it grid tied yet. Luckily it will probably more than make up for it's production/installation carbon footprint before such a time as it finds itself suddenly becoming a de-facto off-shore wind turbine.

3. Hull building an offshore farm

Offshore wind turbines are actually more cost effective than land based systems because they last longer. There is less wear and tear because the wind direction is more constant.
