Error strikes 'BBC climate model'

A "major error" has been discovered in the world's biggest online climate prediction project, backed by the BBC.

The fault in a Climateprediction.net model launched in February causes temperatures in past climates to rise quicker than seen in real observations.

The team behind the model says the error was introduced by a minor last-minute change to the program, which made it easier to download.

The error has now been fixed and all computers running the model will be automatically restarted at 1920.

Bummer - that's 2 months of calculation down the drain. My model did indeed reset to 1920, late last night as far as I can tell. :-(

6. hey, here's a tip if you have trouble starting the program...

change your password in the online settings and then start the setup for the modeling program on your computer using the new password. for some reason i could not finish the setup using the password givin after i downloaded the program.

7. I'm already running the app

but when I go to 'join the team', it says my email address (the one I've had mail sent to by the experiment) is not recognised. Any ideas?
