Cities willing to battle TXU over plants

HOUSTON — A coalition of Texas cities, led by Dallas Mayor Laura Miller and Houston Mayor Bill White, say they're prepared to battle TXU Corp. if the electric utility doesn't alter plans to build coal-fired power plants throughout Texas.
Such plants, the mayors say, will cause the state's already dirty air to become even filthier, and they called on TXU to consider different power generation options.
