Today the first solar panels were installed on the Campus to generate electricity for the university.
In fact, over the course of a year, the solar panels will generate 250-thousand kilowatt hours, which is enough to power 25 homes.
"There's a lot of talk on the faculty and student side on campus about sustainability and renewable energy, so this is a demonstrations of our commitment to that belief, and hopefully we'll be able to use it as an educational tool as well for our engineering students, architectural students and others interested in renewable energy," Said Dennis Elliot, Cal Poly manager of engineering & utilities.
The project is a partnership between Cal Poly, the CSU system, and Sun Edison.>>>>snip
