Well I'll Be A F****d Duck - Ah-Nold Dumping Personal Hummer Fleet
Arnold Schwarzenegger has terminated his beloved fleet of gas guzzling Hummer cars in a bid to save the planet.

The muscleman-turned-Governor of California was the first person to own one of the vehicles in 1992 after he persuaded the manufacturer to start making them for non-Army uses.

But now Arnie, 59, has got rid of his sports-utility vehicles — worth $950,000 — as he makes an effort to go green.

Former US Vice President Al Gore — who has become a figurehead for the environmental movement after the release of his global warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth — confirmed the news yesterday (fri). He revealed: "Arnie has given up his Hummers."

1. What you really meant to say...
Arnold Schwarzenegger has terminated his beloved fleet of gas guzzling Hummer cars in a bid to help bolster his re-election chances.

Sorry, you can paint a pig as pretty as you want, but in the end it's still a pig.

2. He denied healthcare; tradeoff? I rec'd this in an e-mail:

Late at night on Friday, Sept 22, Governor Schwarzenegger denied Californians their right to quality, affordable healthcare by vetoing Senator Kuehl's Universal Healthcare legislation (Senate Bill 840). This is understandable since Schwarzenegger accepted about $4.4 million from the private insurance industry for his election campaigns (9/24 LA Times). That was an unwise decision by the Governor.

8. Maybe.
The Angelides campaign hasn't done a hell of a lot of anything -- Schwarzenutter has been acting up a storm, pretending to be almost progresssive.
