Hadn't heard about this before...
WINTER PARK - At noon on any given day, employee Brittney Pettit is busy serving pizza to the hungry skiers crowded into the ski area’s Snowasis restaurant.
"Very popular place, Pettit said. “Pizza station at Snowasis is always busiest."
It’s a clear sign that skiers know the pizza here is good food, but what they might not know is that the very plates, utensils, even napkins are all made of food too.
"Everything we use. All our napkins all our water cups," said Pettit.
This year the resort started buying environmentally friendly, non-toxic single use products that are made from renewable resources like corn, sugar cane and potato starch.

In 2007, the resort is buying wind energy to run some of the chairlifts, and there is a computer system turning heat on and off in certain areas of the resort depending on whether or not people are around.
"It’s (been) saving us energy (since) the day we developed it," Newberry said.
By stepping up its environmental efforts, Winter Park is hoping not only to preserve natural resources, but to show employees and guests different ways to be more environmentally conscious.
