Why is a Republican making special order speeches on Peak Oil?

This is the 2nd night I have seen him make these speeches.

3. A voice crying in the wilderness

He didn't seem to have his usual fire tonight. In fact he seemed rather down. It has to be disheartening to deliver this message again and again, and get no reaction. We're headed for the greatest catastrophe in the history of the race, and people can't seem to tear themselves away from american idol to even hear about it, much less do anything.

4. I've seen him numerous times

over the past two and a half years. He's always, unfortunately, talking to an empty house.

I found it pretty amazing, this last time I saw him, when he talked about the "absent leadership" when dealing with energy issues. He was definitely talking about the boy king.
