Sun's Rays To Power Up All Of Brunei By 2015
http://www.brudirect.com/DailyInfo/News/Archive/Mar07/090307/nite11.htm

Bandar Seri Begawan – Brunei can be entirely independent from oil for its electricity supply under an ambitious plan to use environment-friendly solar technology to power up 100 per cent of the sultanate by 2015.

Nations Solar Technologies plans to build, own and operate a solar cluster project in the sultanate with the assistance of Hamidjojo Development and its consortium, which have been appointed to do a feasibility study on the project in six months.

The project, which will start on January 1, 2008, aims to put forward a proposal and obtain necessary approvals, licenses and support from the government to reach 100 per cent solar energy capability for Brunei by 2015.

Dr Albrecht Mozer and Dr Peter Fath, both managing directors of Solmic GbmH, a German consultancy firm pecializing in Poly Silicon production facilities for the photovoltaic industry said the project may generate up to 1,800 permanent jobs.

2. Just above an article on wind power growth in Canada and now solar
power in Brunei. The world is leaving US behind, thanks in large part to the subterfuge of the 2000 election.

6. Doesn't anybody else see the contradiction here?
The title and first paragraph make it sound like it's a done deal. Then in the second para we see that a compnay plans to build and operate a facility, but that another company partner plans to do a FEASIBILITY STUDY in six months. Hold on here! If it's a done deal, why do they need a feasibility study? If there needs to be a feasibility study, why is a company planning on building a facility already? Wouldn't a prudent business venture and it's stakeholders want to know if a project is actually viable before committing to build?

Maybe being an engineer with a couple of MBAs makes me think funny, but it seems dumb to me.

7. Because reporters love to write overly optimistic headlines about solar.
words like "will" show up in headlines. Read the article, and then the weasel words make their appearance.
