Denver Post: Global-warming deniers feeling the heat
Good article, but I have my doubts that Exxon has completely given up on their climate change disinformation campaign...they have too much to lose.

Global-warming deniers feeling the heat
Article Last Updated: 03/20/2007 12:30:37 AM MDT

The drumbeat of skepticism over global warming has been oddly muted in the weeks since the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released its summary report in February. For some who found peculiar solace in believing that the world's leading scientists were all idiots, it's been a rough spell.

With more of the IPCC's findings due to be released this spring and corporate money to fund the global-warming skepticism campaign drying up, it can only get worse for the hard-core deniers.

It's not easy being anti-green.

There's no money in it anymore.

1. The key here....
"It's not easy being anti-green.

There's no money in it anymore."

This is turning into a big industry.

Just remember, the Earth has gone through dozens of climate changes and every 100,000 years or so, the magnetic poles shift around.

The key is to learn to adapt - we cannot change the climate patterns of a planet. Mars and jupiter are in warming cycles (according to National Geographic and NASA) and they are not due to SUV's. That big old Sun is rather powerful and is in a warm cycle.

Anyway...I will continue to be a denier and an outcast. But at least its warm....

2. The magnetic poles have nothing to do with it
and we can, and are, changing the climate patterns.

To paraphrase the article in the OP - You seem to find peculiar solace in believing that the world's leading scientists are all idiots.

10. I'm not sure if you're joking or not but anyone still denying is going to
be sorry. Live in Alaska and SEE IT NOW. The world will still be here but we probably won't unless we worship something other than the dollar bill.

4. ExxMo hasn't exactly given up.
Big Oil is launching a 100 million dollar greenwash campaign:
Even if global warming is for real, it won't be that bad.
People will adapt. Nature will adapt. Fossil fuels are the
future. So let's not do something crazy.

7. Yeah right they're gving up.
All you have to do is follow any board and you'll see that legions have suddenly appeared rehashing old talking points to try to discredit the consensus theory. The noise level suddenly kicked up right when the IPCC started releasing parts of the report.

9. I noticed the same thing...
I get google alerts on "global warming" and can tell you that the noise from the deniers has been kicked up several notches in the last few weeks.

11. Their masters activated their Faux News to brain receiver.

It was eerie, as the IPCC report started coming out, all of a sudden wing nuts stopped shrilly screaming about keeping vegetative lesbians who support taxes on the wealthy from marrying and sending their kids to public schools. They became glassy eyed and went into channeling James Inhofe. I had to hole up in my house and keep them at bay by displaying bags of recyclables and compact fluorescents. Fortunately they were attracted away from my residence by the appearance of what they thought was a large SUV. After the sanitation truck ran over them I was able to recycle them by putting them in my compost pile. Apparently they were mostly BS and really made my garden bloom.

8. Public attention has been focused on Iraq, but global warming will win out in the long-term.
