LED light bulb price survey |
|
How much would you pay for a lightbulb that was as bright as incandescent, that lasted 5000 hours used 1/10 of the current amount of electricity you currently use for lighting your home and to reduce the amount of airconditioning you must use to cool the house from the heat of the incandescent. As an added bonus, you can toss this bulb into the landfill without danger and would only do so every 4 or 5 years. One study suggests that each bulb will save $67.00 in electricy costs over its life.
Thanks for any answers :hi:

On the other hand, present prices are steep. Too steep.

4. I think $2.50 a bulb isn't too bad for 208 days worth of light. |
|
And that would be for a lightbulb on 24hrs a day. So on avg. if the bulb was on even 12 hrs a day that would increase your day usage to 400 days... that's over a years worth of glow. I think that's worth the money... and most lightbulb pkg is in 4's anyway so make it $10.00 for a box.

7. What color is the light from these LED bulbs? |
|
What color white? Daylight? Cool white? Yellowish as in an incandescent? The bluish white doesn't cut it.

10. well, I don't blink paying $5-$7 for a CFL |
|
so if they were in that price range I'd try em. I'd pay more if they worked with dimmers
I have 2 places I'd love to have an alternative to incandescents

13. Hm. I'd pay $10 for a 100W equivalent. |
|
It would be worth it just to make my wife yell at me -- she hates it when I change bulbs.

14. $5-8 for a 60watt equivalent |
|
I thought the problem with LED bulbs was that they were directional.
