Australia immigration chief quits

The head of Australia's Immigration Department has resigned after a scathing report on cases of wrongful detention and deportation.

Australia has one of the strictest policies on immigration in the
world.

The investigation into 201 cases of possible wrongful detention and
deportation was carried out by former police commissioner Mick Palmer.

It highlighted mistakes which included the wrongful detention and
deportation of two mentally-ill women.

1. Indeed - and this clown was awarded a gong
in the recent Queen's Birthday honors list. A nice sideways shift to Indonesia to get him out of the firing line.

If an Opposition existed in this country the Immigration Department scandal could have legs but apathy rules and where the hell is my tax cut ?????
