Chen welcomes Indiana's governor and delegation - TW

President Chen Shui-bian (???) received Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels at the Presidential Office yesterday, saying that he hopes trade and economic ties can be strengthened.
Thanking Daniels for making his first visit to Taiwan since becoming governor late last year and for the state's long-term support for Taiwan, Chen said that it is clear that Daniels attaches a high degree of importance to Taiwan.

Twenty-six years ago Indiana was the first US state to forge sisterhood ties with Taiwan and Indiana was also the first US state to open a representative office in Taiwan, Chen said.

He noted that Indiana exported about US$100 million worth of products to Taiwan last year, making Taiwan the state's 19th-largest export market.
