Bush said: "I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. . . . I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have a kind of nation-building corps from America? Absolutely not."

"Right now, our focus remains on bringing about a democratic and constitutional resolution to the situation in Haiti and helping to bring about order and stability in the country," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said yesterday. "We believe that, working with the international community, we can help bring about a more lasting democracy for Haiti's future."

Republicans say it is in our best interest to establish permanent governments across the world and that Americans must never complain about paying the bills. Compared to the trillion dollar, global nation-building operations embraced by Republicans..Clinton's efforts seemed like nothing more than a feeble stack of linkin' logs.

But now nation-building is only another responsibility for all taxpaying workers to bare. Be patriotic about it..the hell with Social Security, universal healthcare, and help during any national disaster! Those are all luxuries, goodies we must thank Jesus for, not necessities that we should ever demand in return for our stately donations. But we owe it to our President, our public officials, and our noble aristocracy to send our children to Iraq. We should pay taxes without expecting anything in return.
