Republicans hide behind the troops

You know, Democrats always get accused of being weak and fearful, and not able to stand up with back bone.

But then I think about any Republican anytime you critique policy about the war.

Their first response isn't usually, a rebuttal of your argument. Rather their response is usually some statement about how you should support the troops! Or how questioning policy, somehow just lowers the moral of our troops to the point, that they'll stop shooting terrorists and start shooting themselves, because they just can't handle someone in America with a opinion that differs from the Bush regime's!

Isn't it kinda a wimpy cop-out to always just hide behind the troops anytime your policy gets questioned?

I mean really, they know, that no flag loving America wants to be negative towards the troops, so as a means of avoiding any intellectual gymnastics at all, they just throw out the, support the troops jargon. What a cop-out.

They wave the flag and hide behind "the troops". They keep saying how much better Iraq is without Saddam, but WHO has killed more Iraqis saddam or *?? Welcome to DU!!! When I first started here someone told me that it was addicting and I have to say it is very true!!:hi:

5. Why

I was an independent but because of all the crap going on have converted to democrat. Is there anywhere on the net you can start a blog with your opinions?

I have a simple question WHY are democrats "weak" on terror. Last time I check sept. 11th happened on the repulican watch with rep. house,senate and white house. Not only that but the man behind it is still on the loose while Americans are being killed in a war we shouldn't be in. They tried to sell the ports to the area that attacked us, the power plants are still no safer then they were and The Hurricane in New Orleans proved that the goverment wasn't ready for a disaster so when are the Democrats going to get off their A** and point this stuff out instead of taking the high road? I would like to see them take over the country but seems that none have the spine to do it right now.
