I wonder if the Repukes would be so adamant about making the current
soldiers' votes count this time around? Especially the ones stationed in and around Iraq?

I wonder how supportive the Republicans would be if the soldiers really expressed their opinions in their votes? I bet there will be a bunch of "overseas ballots" from the military "lost" or "postmarked after the proper date and therefore invalidated" ...

I still get email from the US Embassy in Iraq from when I was over there in 2003-2004, and they're running an aggressive, much increased-in-scope absentee balloting campaign for soldiers and other expatriates in-country. If the soldiers vote, they probably have a better chance of having their votes counted than I do on the Diebold machines in use in my county.

Of course it's a State Department initiative and not an administration initiative. There are *some* professionals left in the State Dept.
