Bombs, hoax bombs, and a hoax hoax

Let's disentangle some things here:

1. There were no bombs found yesterday.

2. There were indeed fake pipe bombs found yesterday near NE Medical Center and on the Longfellow Bridge. A former hospital employee "has been identified but has not been charged".

3. #2 has absolutely nothing to do with the Aqua Teen thing, the reaction to which indeed indicates a "post-9/11" mindset, i.e. hysterical.

Bombs are really scary. Fake bombs are still pretty damn scary. As Adam says, there was good reason for cops to be jittery, and probably even good reason to shut down some of the traffic yesterday.

... and Aqua Teen was neither a bomb, nor a hoax bomb. In fact, the Aqua Teen thing was a hoax-hoax perpetrated by the powers that be. As for the rest of us, grip gotten. B
