Iran launches new missile war games

1 hour, 44 minutes ago

TEHRAN (AFP) - Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard has launched a new two-day air and naval
war game aimed at testing missile defenses at a time of rising tension with the West,
state television reported.

It said missile units of the Revolutionary Guards navy and air force would be carrying out
the exercises in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The naval exercise named Raad (Thunder) was aimed at "enhancing the defensive capabilities"
and preserving the readiness of the naval force's missile unit, the IRNA agency reported.

The goal of the air force war game named Saegheh (Thunderbolt) was also to "consolidate the
defensive and operational capabilities" of the missile unit, it added.

1. It's after 1 AM Pacific Time. I'm saying a little prayer for our planet.

Let's hope it stays as "games" and not "the real deal" -- two madmen are playing at war. I hate every minute of this stuff.

Thanks for posting.

2. Well,
There is an occupying army next door, Mr. Bush has been saber rattling for a long time and we are now driving two aircraft carriers around in the neighborhood. Not that the Iranians always play nicely with others, but this type of thing should really be expected.
