Parking Lot Evacuated After 'Suspicious' Suitcase Found in Irving, Texas

Number Five is ALIVE! Need suitcase!

IRVING, Texas -- The bomb squad was called to a grocery store parking lot Tuesday night after someone discovered a suspicious package, Irving police said.

The person contacted 911 at about 9 p.m. after finding the suitcase at the Tom Thumb grocery store at Belt Line Road at Northgate Drive, police said.

Irving police and firefighters cleared people from the area as the bomb squad investigated the item.

After blowing up the suitcase they found that it was empty, and not a threat to the public.
