A suspicious package found at the Auburn Hills headquarters of DaimlerChrysler this afternoon turned out to be part of a hoax pulled by an employee, according to company officials.
“The package was found outside on one of the shipping docks around 11 a.m.,” said Mike Aberlich, a spokesman for DaimlerChrysler.
The FBI and State Police were called. Because the package was taken outside, there was no need to evacuate the building.
