Suspect package sparks alert

EMERGENCY services, including a chemical protection unit, have been called to a house in Heather Shaw, Trowbridge, after reports of a suspicious package.

Police were contacted at about 9.30am after the householder received the package through the post.

The package is believed to contain a suspicious powder which has caused an allergic skin reaction and investigations are ongoing into the incident.
