Madison Heights Police said a suspicious package discovered by workers at a UPS service center this morning was not an explosive device.
Madison Heights Police Sgt. Ron Hillman said officers cleared the service center in the 1400 block of East Whitcomb around 10:10 a.m. He said officers from the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad found no harmful materials inside of the package.
Hillman said UPS workers found the box earlier this morning and called police because a note on the package said a bomb was inside. He said workers tracked the package and determined it came from Missouri.
Hillman said police are investigating the incident.
