WINDSOR — A suspicious package found in front of a Windsor police officer’s house today was detonated and found to contain several trash bags, loose change and a credit card.
The Greeley Bomb Squad’s inspection robot detonated the package, a tan metal box approximately four inches high and six inches long, with a high-pressure blast of water at about 12:10 p.m.
The box was found on the sidewalk of an unidentified Windsor Police Department officer’s home near the intersection of Lilac and Ponderosa drives. WPD, Windsor-Severance Fire Protection District and Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 8:18 a.m.
“There were various personal items inside like change, and a credit card with a name on it,” Windsor Police Chief John Michaels said. “There were no suspicious or illegal items in the box.”
