DETROIT (Reuters) - Two men from the Detroit area have been
charged with spying for executed Iraq leader Saddam Hussein's
intelligence service, according to federal court documents.
Najib Shemami and Ghazi Al-Awadi were indicted for giving the
former government information about its enemies in the United
States, and were freed on $10,000 bonds each after appearing
in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Tuesday.
The documents also said Al-Awadi told the Iraqi Intelligence
Service in 1997 that he killed his son-in-law, who belonged to
an anti-Hussein political party.
