France A U.S. Friend Or Foe?
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 06:30 PM by dArKeR
Is a making trip to Paris equivalent to taking a glimpse behind enemy lines?

The French have been called the enemy by many Americans since the weeks preceding the war in Iraq, reports CBS News Correspondent Mark Phillips.

First they opposed the war, or so the thinking goes, and now French President Jacques Chirac is trying to undermine the U.S. effort to keep the peace.

Chirac's call for the U.S. to hand over power to the Iraqis soon and to give the United Nations a central role in that process may be seen as obstructionism in the White House — but in France, American stubbornness has been the problem.

CBS - Mr. Phillips,

Let's not forget 99.99% of the countries in the world opposed the Bush slaughter in Iraq. UK and Australia went along for financial/high-tech weapons bribes. Since when does NOT wanting to murder people under FALSE claims constitute being a foe?

And since when can a US appointed puppet Iraqi council be allowed to sell off Iraqi resources back to US corporations and the US Military Industrial Complex?

Our country is indead in trouble Mr. Mark Phillips with journalists and CBS chief editors like you around!

3. Oh, my god, Yves Berger

I'd never heard of this idiot until last week. He's a "novelist" and this piece must be offal from the promo campaign for his latest "book," which seems to be an ode to America.

He's a doddering whack job who never recovered from his boyhood infatuation with 1940-50s American movies, cars, and liberating GIs. As a young man, he lived in the US, and married (and divorced) an American. I think he went (freeper) native. In his view, criticizing US policy about Iraq is equivalent to cheering for Saddam. Sound familiar? There's not an ounce of reason in him.

Just the sort of guy the CIA psyops people would love to have on their payroll. If they don't already.

4. France is America's oldest ally
Would there even be a United States if France hadn't supported us in the Revolutionary War?

The United States today is like a drunk on a rampage. With one friend, the UK, saying 'which bar should we hit next?' and another friend, France saying 'give me your car keys. you are drinking too much'.

5. Nice drunk driver analogy
A sign at the 2/15 demos "Friends don't let friends set terrible precedents."
