CEDAR HILL --
More than 100 residents of a nursing home in Cedar Hill were evacuated Monday morning after someone found a suspicious package in the building.

The residents, most in wheelchairs, some in beds, had to be wheeled outside into the extreme heat while the Dallas Police Department Bomb Squad investigated.
The suspicious item was bubble-wrapped and beeping, according to Lt. Steve Lafferty, Cedar Hill Police Department.

It turns out the object inside the bubble wrap was a medical device that warns if someone falls out of bed or a chair, according to investigators.
