Police have taken a man into custody and are giving him a mental health evaluation after he admitted to leaving a package full of papers in the parking lot of the Lake Ella Publix shopping center.
<snip>
At about 10 p.m., a police bomb robot blasted open the package, a cardboard box with rambling, but not threatening, writing in English.
Lt. Chris Summers of the Tallahassee Police Department said a man who was in the area was taken into custody after admitting to owning the package and telling officers that he'd "left it for his lieutenant."
Summers said the man had been or believed he had been in the military, and was "not in touch with reality."
