Islamic Courts 'preparing to fight' (Somalia)
A senior leader in Somalia's Islamic Courts Union (ICU) and one of the United States' most wanted men appears to be running a military training camp on the Kenyan-Somali border.

Hassan Turki has evaded capture by Somalia's transitional government since the Islamic Courts were forced from power by Somali and Ethiopian troops early this year.

Al Jazeera's cameras gained exclusive access to Turki's camp, where he says fighters are being trained to join the increasing fighting in the capital Mogadishu.

"We are at war. The south is the centre of the battleground where fighters are trained and equipped for battle," he said.

1. Someone needs to come in and stop the slaughter
If the IC can give Somalians back their security, I say more power to them.

2. At this point all they'll do is add to it.
Now, when they had virtually pushed the 'government' out of Somalia, before Ethiopia got involved, they'd largely calmed the slaughter elsewhere, though at the price of Sharia law. At this point all they can do is fight. No idea if they can even win at all. All they will do is add to the slaughter, at minimum, for quite a long time.

I have nothing personal against them but, I just don't think anyone is going to "come in and stop the slaughter". Ethiopia tried that too. Once upon a time, the US military tried, too. Didn't stop a thing.

3. Ethiopia and US warplanes started this round of slaughter in January
Somalia was at peace and had a measure of security for the first time in 14 years under the rule of the IC. Yes, they had to follow strict shia law, but at least they had security and US bombs were not dropping on their heads and Ethiopian soldiers were not raping and killing them.

Then Bolten got the UN to give the okay for the US and Ethiopia to attack Somalia and drive off those brown skinned non-Christians who had the gull to think they could rule Somalia.

So now the Somalians die.

4. Sorta ignoring my point. At this point, the Courts will add to the slaughter.
They won't end it.

My statement in no way relies on who started it or who didn't start it. It's just the facts as they are today.
