LISBON — A 17-year-old East Liverpool High School student was sentenced to 30 days in the county juvenile detention center for calling in a bomb threat last April.
The boy, who no longer attends school there, pleaded guilty last week in Columbiana County Juvenile Court to a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic.
In addition to being sentenced to the Tobin Center, the boy was placed on probation, which included writing letters of apology, curfew restrictions and performing community service.
The boy used his cell phone to call the school on April 13 and say, “We put a bomb in the school.” This occurred about the time of the shootings at Virginia Tech.
