Bomb threat closes banks in Crestview

CRESTVIEW — Police shut down and searched both local branches of Regions Bank on Wednesday after a “non-specific” bomb threat was made.

“We just checked them to make sure there wasn’t anything going on,” said Lt. Kent Buckner with the Crestview Police Department.

The possibility of a threat was passed on to Crestview from the Escambia County Sheriff ’s Office after it was notified a threatening call was made to Regions Bank’s corporate security office.

Nicholson said details weren’t clear, but that the person who made the threat may live in North Okaloosa County near Crestview and work in Santa Rosa County.
