US FIGHTERS POUND SA’ADA, KILL 120

At least 120 Houthis have lost lives and 44 others sustained injuries as US fighter jets took part in air strikes in the northwestern Yemeni province of Sa’ada.

“The US air force perpetrated an appalling massacre against citizens in the north of Yemen as it launched air raids on various populated areas, markets, refugee camps and villages along with Saudi warplanes,” the northern Yemen-based Houthi Shia fighters said.

They added, “The savage crime committed by the US air force shows the real face of the United States. It cancels out much touted American claims of human rights protection, promotion of freedoms of citizens as well as democracy.”

2. Is there any proof that the US was involved in this?
The US isn't the only one in the region with war planes, and the Saudi's are said to be far more interested in this than the US.

4. Press TV has been known to lie.
I would wager these are Saudi aircraft they are talking about here. Not that we (the USA) get off scot free, we sold them the jets.

6. They lie about things that matter to them.

Like most "News" sources. And they tell the truth when is suits their purposes or they do not care. What are you a Kool-Aid drinker? I'm supposed to view WaPo with cynical disdain (and I do) but whatever Press TV prints I'm supposed to swallow immediately?

Edit: FWIW, I am NOT on the Saudi side in this.

8. Most of the Saudi jets
...are EU products. Yes, they have American-made F-15s but they have an air-to-air role only. The aircraft with ground attack capability are the Panavia Tornados, built by a European consortium and they are also buying Eurofighter Typhoons (which have both air-to-air and air-to-ground capability) to replace the F-15s.

I doubt anybody bombed anyone in Yemen based on the source, but even if the Saudis bombed them, they did it with European hardware.

7. doomed
we are doomed by the war mission mentality. It is very ingrained and borders on religion. Some how the US has come to believe it can go into places, help the natives and they will create a society. We have no place in this exercise and are blind to the deeper changes that are needed because our self -interest have tied our hands. It is not up to us to create societies. Our own is hurting and Obama has been sucked in. Dismantling a war machine in times of recession is harder. The war machine is our economy now.
