I went with a friend to Chicago last weekend for a drum show
we attend annually. The flight from BWI to ORD was boring as
usual. Coming home was a different story.
As I presented my boarding pass and license, I noticed a black
light being spotted on said license. I didn't think much about
it until I was pulled out of the line by a very nasty TSA lady
and was told I would have to be frisked and searched. As I had
been up since 4:00 am, I really wasn't in the mood for this. I
asked her what it was about and was told to basically STFU and
wait until a male was available to pat me down. After waiting
5 minutes, I told her she was welcome to frisk me if she
wanted which seemed to make things worse. Finally, a nice
gentleman came along, patted me down and tested my hands with
some kind of tape. He then took the tape and ran it under
another what looked to be black light. I guess that was to
check for explosive residue?
On the news Tuesday, I heard about a TSA program no one knows
about, The Behavior Recognition Program", where
"Experts" are expertly trained to spot suspicious
behavior. What a bunch of shit! The only thing I looked like
was someone who had eaten and drank too much for a few days. I
really feel sorry for the impeccably dressed 70 yo lady I saw
yanked from the line to endure the same treatment. To me, she
looked like she spent too much time shopping and not much
else.
$19,000,000 has been spent on this program and they want
another $20,000,000 from what I hear. Just another waste of
our tax dollars on programs that A: Do not work and B: Further
invade our privacy and "Freedom" in order to
"Keep us safe".
Please contact your mis representatives and demand a stop to
this invasion!
