Open letter to Public Safety Minister...
Not sure how many of you are from Canada, but considering this is a national security area I thought I would post this here. Basically I have been unfairly targetted by CSIS (Canada's equivalent of the CIA). This has has gone on for some time and has shown no boundaries as it has impacted my work at a bank here and I have basically been given the short timeframe before I will no longer be working there, this is after 2 years of being managed out of the company. I do not have a record, never dealt drugs been part of a hate group etc. What you have to understand is unlike the CIA, which is concerned with protecting the security of Americans, Canadian intelligence is more concerned with manufacturing threats to increase their bdgets and suppressing the liberties of Canadians.

I am posting the letter that I sent the Minister who oversees both CSIS and the RCMP; Vic Toews. I am desperately looking for assistance on how to best approach this issue before the impending lawsuit. Thanks for your time and I appreciated any suggestions you can provide.

Hello Mr. Toews,

I am sending you this email for a few reasons. 1) you are the new Public Safety Minister and as such are responsible for overseeing Canadian Intelligence, 2) based on your website that lists your #1 priority as "accountability". I will take this as being genuine suggestion and not just a buzzword, therefore I contact you to attempt to obtain some results.

I agree with you that it is extremely important to hold politicians and federal instituions accountable. For this reason, you have an obligation: morally, legally, personally and due to your position; to review my "file" and advise those that you oversee to make a just and correct decision on what threat I pose. As you have access to these files I expect that you would take my request at face value. I find it astonishing that Canada operates in this matter, and I have pursued this matter with 2 International organizations including the U.N as a number of my universally respected rights have been violated.

I have been unfairly misrepresented and targetted by intelligence in Canada. This is due to a brief and weak ideological view that I held when I was 19 years old which was in fact manufactured and encouraged by Canadian intelligence. I am currently 35 years old and for many years I have faced employment interference, had threats uttered to myself and my family, and, most recently, I was held for 45 minutes at the U.S border while crossing. They held my passport for the full time while I sat in my car waiting nervously and when I asked the guard if they had a problem with me he replied, "we don't have a problem with you, speak to your government", he then said I was free to go. He was obviously alluding to me that it was the Canadian government who "flagged" me.

I do not have a criminal record, I am not part of any hate group, am I a strong supporter of capitalism and I have always had a respect for the Intelligence community, though my opinion has certainly become jaded due to my personal experience. Oddly enough, I was a supporter of the Conservative Party, though the support for my personal circumstance has not been forthcoming from your party or predecessors. I have tried for a very long time to live my life and move on, but I cannot do so until someone has the courage to admit that they were wrong and remove me as a "person of interest" and lift my "security clearance" limitations.

It is 2010, certainly we are facing threats in Canada, I am not one of them. A great deal of resources, time, effort and taxpayers money have been frankly wasted on myself, how many others like me have suffered I cannot say, but I am appealing to you to review my file, and if required, have a representative meet with me to clear up this matter.

I look forward to hearing from or your office soon.

Regards,

1. Control what you can control
Whatever your situation, control what you can control.
- Take camera photographs of people targeting you as well as their license plates when possible. Upload them to a website, without making a judgment or comment on who they are.
- Don't isolate yourself. This means that you don't go around blabbing to everyone about your situation. Either they'll think your crazy and not believe you, or they will believe you and know you are trouble. Either way, it will drive people away.

Good luck.

2. Thanks for the response...
This would be good advice, except my situation has gone way beyond this. I have tried for years to clear my name, this is not a new phenomenon. I remained quiet, while contacting CSIS, the Public Safety Minister, even the Prime Ministers Office, providing them information with whom had targetted me (including a photo of one person in particular). I did this as I felt they would leave me alone, I am not a threat to anyone, nor have I ever been etc. I did nothing to help, in fact, it made it WORSE.

So now, unfortunately, after being interferred with for employment positions and other situations, I need to go public. I need to spread the word, and I need to hold them accountable in the publics eye. There is nothing more that I can do officially or discreetly, I went this route for 5 years and it has gotten me nowhere. If it pushes some people away so be it, I don't care as my story stands on its own and facts are facts.

You have to understand CSIS is not like the CIA, they don't deal with real threat, they create them to pad their own pockets with budget increases. They are not concerned with Canadians Rights nor with our freedom or security.

Thanks for the feedback though, I do appreciate it. It's hard to be rational and reasonable when the people you are reasoning with have noone to answer to.
