Bush urged to back referendums
Two members of the recently-formed Senate Taiwan Caucus have written to US President George W. Bush urging his administration to support Taiwan's right to enact a law permitting referendums, and to hold referendums that do not touch on the issue of independence or unification with China.

1. Interesting, but I don't quite get it.
Does Taiwan really need shit-for-brains permission to pass
such a law?

3. One of these feelings I get with no proof. My 6th sense acting up again
You here about the US Power Elite hiding their money in Switzerland and teh Caymans... I think the US political/PE money is being stored in Taiwan. Taiwan and the US actually have no laws/treaties concerning finance/criminal conduct. (I think). It is a very small country where 1 man's words controls ALL. And the US has Taiwan by the balls when it comes to security and weapons sales. So I think in fact the US controls all of Taiwan.

4. OK.
I can sort of see not wanting any of this democracy shit to get
too far ahead of itself in those circumstances. On the other
hand, it's good to keep everybody's illusions intact, so we have this
letter to get Shrub to let them vote as long as it's nothing
important.
