Warblogging: The Case of Countries A and B (Libya/Iraq)
An analysis of how the US & Brittain handled the threats of Iraq and Libya differently - and how a non-military approach achieved the desired results in the case of Libya.

So, let's look at this one more time: You have Country (A) which is ruled by a brutal dictator and has used WMD against enemies, has engaged in aggressive wars, possesses large stockpiles of WMDs and is called the "world's leading supporter of terrorism." You have Country (B) which has not been proved to have directly engaged in an act of terrorism against America or its allies, which apparently possesses no WMDs but yet has engaged in an aggressive war or two.

Given a choice, and honestly believing that WMDs in the hands of terrorists is a compelling reason to engage in "pre-emptive war", who do you invade first? President Bush chose Country B. He decided to kiss and make up with Country A.
